White Carrara marble was used by the Romans to construct the Pantheon and by Michaelangelo to make his David statue. The stone so impressed Michelangelo that he wrote of making a monumental sculpture from a whole mountain of marble that would one day overlook the sea. Since the first slabs were taken from Tuscany’s Carrara quarries under the rule of ancient Rome, Carrara marble has been utilized in art and architecture. An average space is transformed into a piece of beauty by Carrara marble. Which is defined by its main white or white-gray tone and veining varying from blue-gray to charcoal gray.
